We are expecting our first child, we do not know yet if it is a boy or a girl. My name is Blayne and my husband's name is Blair, and our last name also begins with B, and is long and slightly challenging. I really like that both our our names are somewhat unusual, and since we have all the Bs going on we decided to just go with it and stick with B names. I find that it is a pain that both of our names work for either boys or girls, as people we meet for the first time have a hard time figuring out who is who. So our main qualifications would be that it starts with B, is somewhat unusual, has a masculine or feminine identity, and is something the child won't have to spell every time they meet someone (which I find that i have to do often). The names that we have agreed on so far are Briley and Bryce or Bryson. Beatrice/Beatrix have been firmly shot down. Middle name for a girl will probably be Marie and for a boy either Mathew or Thomas (all family names). What suggestions do you have for us?
Thanks,
Blayne

I love the idea of a B themed family!
I love Bridget and Betsy for girls.
Other suggestions Bryony, Bella, Blanche. For boys Benjamin, Brian, Byron, or Benson?
Very neat idea! Love the names!
Another suggestion for a girl: Breanne.
I love them all! I love Beckett Mathew and Britta Marie. Britta is great too because my brother's name is Brit. I also like Bryony. I will let you know what we decide and congratulations on your news as well!
Great names. Have fun with them when they are little because they grow up way too fast. I have a political blog you might like. Good luck with the baby.
Not trying to be a downer, but Britta makes me think of the filter, and Braxton makes me think of the contractions...
I love the name Brynlee and Brooke
for a girl
Benton and Bryce for boys
I love Briar for a girl and Braxton or Beckett for a boy. Good Luck!
Braxton is the name of the baby from "The Simple Life."
My son is named Braxton! We love it especially since it isn't common at all.
I have a Bryson, and i love the name! good luck!!

I have a friend who did the name game with the letter C -- and as an FYI -- it ended up being hard once they had their 3rd child...their choices were so limited. However...it is a really cute idea! :)
If I have a girl this time, I want to name her Blaise Arabella. We actually had the name Blaze/Blaize down for a boy option...but THOUGHT we were having a girl, and figured it looked a lot more feminine to make it Blaise. I don't know if that is distinct enough for you?
For a boy -- we though of naming him Braham -- rhymes w/ Graham. It is a family name...but one I though twas unique and fun. I also liked the name Brynmore for a boy. I don't know how we ended up with so many "B" names on my list -- lol -- we arn't trying to go with a "B." Our first son's name is Grayson, so we were just trying to find names that went with that.
I also like that all of your children would starting with "B" in the world. I would baby boy names with meaning with origin. my favorite name is Baageshree it's a girl name
I love the name Blanche!! And for a boy, Benson is really cool!!
Stuart
Hey ,
Just found your blog for the first time. Its just fantastic to see your replies and how wonderfully you relate to all.
My husband and I are expecting baby girl in July 2012. Her last name would be "Shah".
We would like to have a very classy and sophisticated name, which would blend extremely well in both the cultures, i.e. Indian and Foreign ( american, Hebrew , Greek, etc.), prefer less inclination towards Indian though. Have gone through most of your posts, unfortunately didn't get that click yet. Your suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
